How GPA is calculated
Each grade maps to a grade point. Multiply the point by the course credits, add the results, then divide by the total credits. A course with more credits therefore carries more weight.
A grade point average is not a percentage. Converting one to the other depends on the school, so this tool keeps the 4.0 scale explicit and does not invent a percentage.
