Discount inputs
Tax rates are inputs, not claims about the rate that applies to a specific transaction. Currency selection formats numbers only; no exchange-rate conversion occurs.
How stacked discounts work
Stacked discounts are applied one after another. A 20% discount followed by a 10% discount is not a 30% discount. The second discount applies to the already reduced price: price × 0.8 × 0.9, which is an effective 28% reduction.
Tax and fees
In the default mode, tax is applied after the discount. If the price already includes tax, selecting the inclusive mode prevents tax from being added a second time. Fixed fees are added after tax and are shown separately from tax and savings.
Frequently asked questions
Does changing the currency convert the price?
No. Currency selection only changes number formatting. No exchange rate is requested or applied.
Why is a negative discount shown as a price increase?
If the sale price is higher than the original price, the discount-rate formula returns a negative number. That means the price increased, not that a discount was applied.
Are the totals rounded?
The calculator keeps full numeric precision internally and rounds only for display based on the selected currency.
