This is a metadata viewer, not a metadata remover. The MVP reads supported PDF fields only.

Fields marked “Potential personal data” can reveal identity, software, or activity timestamps. They are not proof that a document contains sensitive content.
How to check document metadata
Select a PDF. The tool reads the document information dictionary and straightforward XMP text fields. Each value is displayed as escaped text, never as active HTML.
What information can PDF metadata reveal?
Possible fields include title, author, subject, keywords, creator application, producer, creation date, and modification date. These can expose a person, organization, workflow, or editing history.
Supported document formats
The MVP supports PDF metadata inspection. DOCX and other formats are not enabled because their metadata paths require separate validation.
Limitations of metadata inspection
This is not a forensic tool. Compressed object streams, unusual encodings, attachments, and proprietary metadata may not be read. An empty result means no supported fields were found, not that the document is free of all hidden data.
Frequently asked questions
Does this remove metadata?
No. It only inspects and reports. No verified removal method is included in this MVP.
What happens with an encrypted PDF?
The tool reports that the document is encrypted and does not ask for a password.
Is the file uploaded?
No. The file is read in the browser.
